Beat Schwaller arrived in the Cariboo in 1993 and immediately realized it was both an outdoor person’s paradise and a place full of opportunity—if you were willing to work for it.

He stayed.

While raising a family and spending as much time as possible skiing, mountain biking, and exploring the backcountry, Beat quietly became one of the best log builders in the business. For more than 30 years, he’s worked as a Timber King, mastering a craft that has evolved dramatically over time. New tools. New techniques. Higher standards. Beat kept up with all of it—and then started pushing it forward.

Today, he runs the Unbeatable School of Log Construction, a one-of-a-kind training program based right here in the Cariboo. Students come from around the world to learn how to build exceptional log homes, start businesses, change careers, or tick a long-held bucket-list dream. What they get is hands-on training, real mentorship, and skills that actually lead somewhere.
